I started practicing Ashtanga and Anusara yoga while in graduate school. Yoga gave me the ability to listen to my inner voice and practice being my authentic self, something I see as a lifelong practice. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Sri Yoga in San Francisco in 2013 where, among other things, I learned about the history of yoga and how to teach from an authentic voice.
I live in Scotts Valley with my husband and our dog and two cats. I am also a DJ at a local college radio station and love learning about new artists and new ways of being creative. I’m a native Californian and I love traveling and seeing new places. I like running and have completed several 5Ks, 10Ks, and two half marathons.
My classes incorporate poses (asana), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation. I see yoga as a practice of self-discovery and healing trauma. Teaching combines my two passions: education and yoga.
I believe that everyone has the ability to do yoga. All you need is the willingness to try new things and the desire to learn more about yourself.
