Michelle “Shel” Patton
While working as a residential interior designer, Shel knew she needed something physical in her life, but struggled with finding an activity that would let her connect with her body and give her the same emotional lightness that she experienced growing up as a dancer. Shel found yoga at the beginning of 2013. Shortly after beginning her practice, Shel noticed not only physical changes, but mental changes, as well. She was no longer carrying a heavy burden she’d been unaware was there. Shel felt deeply compelled to share this practice with others. In the fall of 2015, Shel left her career, began substitute teaching, and took the plunge into yoga teacher training. She graduated teacher training March 2016 and began guiding group classes shortly after. Shel wholeheartedly believes anyone can have a yoga practice, if they want, regardless of age, size, shape, color, gender, income, etc. She became a certified Yoga for All teacher July 2017. Shel leads her classes with honesty, love, and compassion.
