Truth be told, I have been a practitioner of yoga since childhood. I fondly remember elementary “phys ed” classes spent on green padded mats stretching from bridge to wheel pose, among other familiar asanas, even though they were not presented as yoga. My mother taught me to meditate when I was young since it was a practice of hers. But it wasn’t until adulthood that I connected those lessons at my mother’s knee and gym classes with the practice of yoga.
I decided that serving as a yoga and meditation instructor was my passion not long after I became a student in earnest, having come from a family of teachers. I enjoy the opportunities yoga offers for integrating practice beyond the mat, beyond a fixed classroom setting. I am an accessible yoga teacher in the broadest sense. I believe yoga is for everyone. Helping students discover how yoga and meditation work in their lives, bringing these practices to people wherever they are, so that they can best embody their lives, is what inspires and motivates me.
