Bio

Redwood Yoga is Judy Raddue - a passionate advocate for yoga’s power as a path to healing and joy for every body - not because I read it in a book, but from my own personal practice. Yoga is transformational in that it opens you up to your truest, best self, letting go of all judgment. With dedicated practice, I find the lessons of the mat informing my life off the mat - embracing the world with an open spirit.

After nearly 15 years of practice, I received my RYT-200 teacher training certification through Bloom Yoga Studio in Chicago in 2014. As a teacher, my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for my students, allowing them to discover how yoga can work for their individual needs. My classes are meditative and breath-centered. I prefer a gentle approach with long holds in which students can surrender into stillness. This drew me to yin yoga and, in 2015, received my 50-hour certification from Semperviva Yoga in Vancouver, studying under master yinster Bernie Clark and Diana Batts. I've also received Yoga for All certification from Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes.

Off the mat, I am a voracious reader (evidenced by the piles of reading materials throughout my home) and Netflix/tv junkie (finding a great series as engrossing as a good book). Music is my religion - not a surprise, as I’m a former opera singer. My CD collection is a testament to my diverse taste, believing that a good tune is all you need, whether it be Bach, the Beasties or Billie Holiday. I’m blessed to share my passions with Oona Lovebug - my feline guru who’s rarely happier than when I unfold my mat.
