UpLIFT Nola is located in the beautiful, historic Algiers Point neighborhood on the Westbank of New Orleans. The studio is more than 100 years old and has served the community in numerous capacities, but today it offers a quaint and quiet place to rejuvenate. About
RYT-200 who loves breath centered yoga. I am a RN by profession but a yogi in spirit. A healer who loves to share yoga with everyone who's interested. I began my yoga experience when diagnosed with Lyme disease and experienced chronic pain. I fell in love and now I can't imagine my life without it. I have recently been certified with the Christina Phipps Foundation in Yoga for Cancer Survivors. I am in the process of doing my " karma yoga" and giving free classes to Cancer Survivors, caregivers, and friends. Constantly on a learning journey.

About
Alissa Nelson is a science nerd, quinoa-loving yoga teacher, and social justice activist.
She has worked with public housing residents, patients, physicians, and health policy experts. Regardless of the setting, she works alongside people to help them embody the change they seek in the world. Alissa is often described by friends and colleagues as grounded, authentic, and smart; she enjoys hearing about people's lived experiences as much as she loves a good a literature search.
She earned masters degrees in neuroscience, social work, and public health from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor's of science in neuroscience from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, working for three years in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Hall, the 2017 Nobel Prize winner in Medicine or Physiology. She is really into complicated meals, fantasizing about having a handmade wardrobe, and learning to feel comfortable in the ocean in and around Los Angeles.
